OTR has visited Managua twice with Bible clothing and toys, has
led worship and shared the word of God in two local churches, and
has established a relationship with two pastors and with some of
the people in the Acahualinca neighborhood.
OTR is currently raising funds in order to build a children's shelter
and ministry center in that neighborhood, which will be used to
meet the many needs of the children and to give them hope, and to
provide a means through which we can show the love of Christ and
bring others into the Kingdom.
Local church members have been identified to run the ministry,
and a volunteer team has been identified in the US to go to Managua
and build the building. The current needs for this project include
financial aid for the construction materials, about 5 acres or more
of land in the vicinity, funds to furnish the facility, and prayer.
The long term sustaining needs will be for medical supplies, clothing,
toys, Bibles and Christian literature(in Spanish), and operational
funds for maintenance, utilities, and salaries. The building drawing
is the current actual building plan.
